I had polio in 52 before the disc. of the vaccine. AT age 11,I had a flail leg 3/4 in. shorter than the other. An orthopedic surgeon gave me a procedure called epiphyseal stapling now the "good leg" is 1 5/8 shorter with deformities.
ReplyDeleteSo a licenced Orthopedic surgeon ruined the "best leg I ever had." and the loss of stature entails an indisputable economic and social cost. What was worse: I'm paying big $ for lifts and equipment etc and at the time a law suit was almost impossible and I was too young to sue on my own.

ReplyDeleteFinishing my B.A, in Health Care Studies. I am a disabled health care professional who had for 14 years worked as a Surgical Technologist. I am looking to become either a Physician's Assistant or a Family Practice doctor. I am finding so many barriers in my continuing educational quest and/or even getting back into clinical employment. Hope this site helps me. So far I am finding value in the information. Thank you.
